Maxima Legal takes part in SPIEF 2015

Maxim Avrashkov, Managing Partner of Maxima Legal, took part in the 19th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, held from 18 to 20 June.

A record number of delegates attended this year’s Forum – 10,000 people from more than 100 countries. Numerous international agreements were signed and hundreds of events took place. With each passing year the high level of the participants and the productivity of the business meetings and discussions reinforce the Forum’s status as a leading world platform for taking investment decisions.

As a member of the Leaders Club Maxim Avrashkov also visited a specialized event organized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives: a round-table discussion entitled “Access Permitted: The Participation of Small and Medium Businesses in the Purchases of Infrastructural Monopolies and Companies with State Participation”.

In addition, Maxima Legal, in conjunction with the Leaders Club and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, organized its own event at the Forum: a round-table discussion entitled “Prospects for the Development of Public-Private Partnerships in

Regions of Russia”. The participants included representatives from regional executive authorities in the fields of economy and the attraction of investment, heads of development corporations and agencies for attracting investment. The main subject of the discussion was regional public-private partnerships in the social and communal fields: the construction of kindergartens, schools and municipal swimming pools, the reconstruction of boiler-houses, and so on.

On 19 June Evgeny Druzhinin, Head of Maxima Legal’s Real Estate and Construction Department, took part in the panel discussion “Real Estate in Russian Regions: from Design to Investment”. Experts discussed common problems in Russian regions relating to investment in real estate.

Others who took part in the discussion were: Andrey Chibis, Russian Deputy Minister for Construction, Housing and Utilities, Ivan Grachev, State Duma Deputy, author of the law “On Valuation Activity” and President of the International Academy of Mortgage and Real Estate, and Nikita Stasishin, Director of the Department of Housing Policy at the Russian Ministry of Construction.

Maxim Avrashkov, Managing Partner of Maxima Legal, was a member of the Leaders Club delegation that took part in a Small and Medium Business Forum entitled “Small Business – Great Prospects” held on the eve of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. It was organized with the aim of receiving feedback from small and medium businesses through a channel of communication on the scheme “businessmen-authorities-development institutions”.

Leaders Club members were speakers at all the round-table discussions at the Forum, including the plenary session, where all the Club’s proposals were included in the final resolution. Delegates remarked that the event was a great success and expressed the hope that it will be part of the Forum’s main programme next year.

On 6 June Maxim Avrashkov, Managing Partner of Maxima Legal and a member of the Leaders Club, took part in a golf tournament organized by the regional section in the Northwest Federal District.

The multipurpose development of land in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region started to increase comparatively recently. Evgeny Druzhinin, Head of Maxima Legal’s Real Estate and Construction Department, threw light on the legal aspects regulating this type of building.
