MCL together with Kommersant Publishing House organized a business seminar LEGAL AND TAX SOLUTIONS BY USING FOREIGN JURISDICTIONS: CYPRUS.

The event was attended by leading experts in the field of tax law: Elena Kilinkarova - Advisor, PhD, lecturer in public and administrative law of the Faculty of Law, Head of "Tax Law and Taxation" practice, Vladimir Kilinkarov - Partner, PhD., Head of "Intellectual Property and Information Law" practice” and "International Investment and International Private Law" practice, as well as Ioannides Demetriou representatives: Nayia Morphi - specialist in tax advisory and fiduciary services and Christina Ioannidou - expert on the Cyprus corporate and contract law.
The event was also attended by the General Consul of the Republic of Cyprus, Giorgos Samouel, who made short introductory speech, affecting not only the theme of the historical development of the Republic but also the basic economic problems that can be solved through legal aspects of the relations between Russia and Cyprus.
Within the framework of the seminar the most topical practical issues were considered and discussed:

  • legal solutions by using Cypriot and other foreign jurisdictions: corporate and applicable law aspects;
  • the Cyprus tax laws and best tax solutions & the latest changes to the Russia/Cyprus Double Taxation Treaty;
  • basics of Cypriot corporate and contract law. Entering into contracts regulated by the laws of Cyprus.

As soon as speakers delivered their speeches an animated discussion took place: the participants had an opportunity to ask all the questions they were interested in. Comprehensive speeches delivered by speakers and fierce debate over the topical issues were an apparent advantage of that event.
