No “Maybes” Required. Axioms of Inheritance Planning.

On 30 July a seminar for private clients on the subject of inheritance planning with regard to personal assets was held at the Maxima Legal office in St. Petersburg.

The seminar was staged by the company’s newly-established Private Wealth Department, which deals with various legal matters connected with clients’ personal assets, including inheritance planning, structuring of family property, private investments, real estate deals, securities, yachts and aircraft in Russia and abroad and the resolution of other private matters. The moderator for the seminar was Natalya Zelentsova, Head of the Private Wealth Practice.

The main speaker was notary Elena Antonova, who has joined the Maxima Legal inheritance planning team. She spoke about the pluses and minuses of inheritance by law and inheritance by will, and about the aims and instruments of inheritance planning. The seminar also discussed possible mechanisms for transferring property to legatees and the special rules relating to the inheritance of assets abroad.
