MCL took part in the discussion of the Economic Development Agency of the Leningrad Region
On 26 June 2013 the Economic Development Agency of the Leningrad Region held a round table on a topic "Investment Policy and Prospects of Industrial Development of the Leningrad Region" attended by the Managing Partner of Maxima Consulting and Law company, Maxim Avrashkov.
Within the framework of this event there was discussed the Draft of the Investment Strategy of the Leningrad Region dated 9 April 2013 to the extent related to the possibility to answer the following questions:
What industries and markets are promising taking into account the external factors influencing the development of the Russian and world economy?
What potential does the development of industry in the Leningrad Region have?
Which of the existing customary sectors of regional industry can, in the long view, become a breakthrough and which will slow down?
What regional policy measures will facilitate flow of investment to the fundamental and new sectors of industry of the Leningrad Region?
Dmitry Anatolievich Yalov, the Vice-Governor of the Leningrad Region and the chairman of the Economic Development and Investment Committee was elected to chair the event at issue. He focused the attention of the participants on discussing such matters as: the need to attract investments of other type, shift the emphasis to Russian investors and to sub-sectors with state participation, the fact that banking community lacks industrial policy and consideration of the development of up-to-date logistics complexes in the Investment Strategy of the Leningrad Region and due observance of measured aimed at the localisation of the construction market.
