Maxima Legal at Conference of St. Petersburg International Legal Forum in Paris
Maxim Avrashkov, Maxima Legal managing partner, took part in the 4th Conference of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum held in Paris on 14 and 15 November 2013.
Conferences held away from home as part of the preparation for the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, a major event in the life of Russian business community, have already become a good tradition. Every year forum sponsors choose a new venue for the Conference in order to promote the status of the Forum and strengthen the role of the Russian law as a regulator in international economic relations. This year the leading players in the Russian legal market, including judges, lawyers, prosecutors, law enforcement officers, legal practitioners, scholars and public officials, have been invited to the French capital.
Conference participants closely analysed the effects of major innovations in the legislation of the two countries, regulating civil transactions and investment activities. The discussion was moderated by Tatyana Andreyeva, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation. Key speakers included, among others: Oleg Shilokhvost, Judge of the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation; Andrey Tsarikovsky, Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation; Sergey Arakelov, Deputy Head of the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation; and Emmanuelle Hoffman, Vice President of the Union of French Manufacturers (UNIFAB).
“The fact that key figures on the Russian and French law scene are discussing important aspects of the respective national legislative systems, undoubtedly contributes to the further integration of Russia into the process for the establishment of a global legal framework,” explains Maxim Avrashkov.
