The mortgage is now one of the most popular ways of purchasing real estate, more common in relation to flats in the city than to property in the suburbs. However, there are other ways of purchasing real estate outside the city.

Evgeniy Druzhinin, Senior Lawyer and Head of Maxima Legal’s Real Estate and Construction Department, described the legal aspect of the purchase of residential accommodation: the schemes for the purchase of property that currently exist in the Russian Federation: payment by instalments and by joining residential, residential-building or rent-to-own cooperatives.
