No passport of transaction (passport sdelki) under foreign trade contracts is required if the aggregate value of contract does not exceed 50,000 US dollars
Starting on February 27, 2011 it is no longer required to issue passport of transaction in respect of foreign trade contracts if the aggregate value thereof does not exceed the equivalent of 50,000 US dollars at the official foreign currency rate to ruble fixed by the Bank of Russia as of the execution date of the contract.
Pursuant to the Instructions of the Central Bank of Russia No. 2557-У dated December 29, 2011 the residents of the Russian Federation enjoy the right to close passport of transaction issued under a foreign trade contract if the aggregate value thereof does not exceed the equivalent of 50,000 US dollars as of February 27, 2011.
We remind that before it was required to issue passport of transaction in respect of any foreign trade contract, if the aggregate value thereof exceeded 5,000 US dollars at the official foreign currency rate to ruble fixed by the Bank of Russia as of the execution date of the contract. Currently such threshold is preserved for loan agreements only.
