Maxima Legal has become a partner for the Delovoy Peterburg ranking of millionaires
On 26 September 2017, Managing Partner at Maxima Legal, Maxim Avrashkov, took part in the presentation of the annual project 'Ranking of millionaires. The wealthiest people in St Petersburg' published by Delovoy Peterburg and the new project Delovoy Club DP.
The presentation of the ranking, which was supported by Maxima Legal, took place at a closed event with an exhibition of art titled 'Legacy of millionaires. The private collections of modern Russia' held at the Leningrad Centre. As part of the event, art from private collections of St Petersburg millionaires was displayed, including paintings, retro-memorabilia, valuable books and other art objects. Businesspeople discussed investment in art whilst art historians discussed the value of the presented collections.
The ranking published by Delovoy Peterburg traditionally includes businesspeople who are considered locals, regardless of their place of birth, current place of residence or where their assets are primarily located. The wealth of the millionaires was evaluated on the basis of the value of companies owned by them, ongoing projects, property as well as any property under construction.
In the 2017 ranking, 304 successful entrepreneurs were included. For further information (in Russian) please click on the following link.
Konstantin Boytsov has been quoted by Delovoy Peterburg about the unlawful actions of a landlord of a commercial centre
On 8 July, Delovoy Peterburg published an article which examines the situation between the tenants and the landlord of a commercial centre in St Petersburg called Monpansye. The article is about how the dispute concerning Monpansye, which is a 58,500 square metres property, in the arbitration court of St Petersburg and the Leningrad region flared up.
Head of the practice for real estate and construction at Maxima Legal, Konstantin Boytsov, is representing the interests of a tenant, a gallery of Russian designers called ‘Luglook’, who the landlord is threatening with fines and doubling rental payments along with a threat of blocking access to the building.
Konstantin assessed the current situation as a flagrant breach of the law, ‘eviction of a tenant can only take place on the basis of a court decision, the actions of blocking access of a tenant, whose lease is registered with Rosreestre [the Russian equivalent of a Land Registry], is against legislation.’
He considers that the owner of the commercial centre used the procedure of restructuring in order to try to avoid the obligations of the previous owner.
